If you boiled human desire down to just one thing each day, what do you think it’d be?
I’d argue at its very core our desire is for today to be better than yesterday. Even if just by a little.
We desperately want to feel like things are getting better. That we’re making progress in the pursuit of our ideal life.
The problem is although we want our life to be different and better, we don’t actually do anything to change it from one day to the next. We continue living with the same bad habits, thinking the same idle thoughts and taking the same unproductive actions.
As a result, nothing changes. Our days, weeks, months and even years become mirror images of one another. Which is kind of depressing!
What’s ironic about all this, is we already know what it takes to get different (and better) results in our lives. We have to think and act differently.
How many times have we heard that the definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results? I’m willing to bet if we had a dollar for every time, we’d probably have a sizable stack of cash.
Doing the same thing over and over only gets you more of the same. Growth, progress, improvement and every other synonym you can think of require something different. Something you haven’t done before.
But here’s the kicker…and I’m betting you already know this…doing “something different” once will only take you so far. To move to the next level in business and life will again require you to do something you haven’t done before. It’ll require you to become a new and better version of yourself.
The good news? It’s not rocket science. It’s pretty straightforward.
Do something different. Get a different result. Repeat.
The bad news? The journey isn’t easy, it’s hard. Actually, it sucks at times!
And trying to navigate it alone isn’t going to work. Although we think about our life like it’s an individual sport, it’s not. No one succeeds alone. Life is the quintessential team sport.
It requires surrounding yourself with the right people. People who genuinely care about you and want to see you succeed. People who want to be a part of helping you build your ideal life.
And this is where I come in.
My purpose is to inspire business owners to explore and challenge their limits. To help them unlock and maximize their true potential.
This driving force is grounded in four CORE principles:
Following the herd will typically lead you in the wrong direction. Have the courage to ask if there’s a better way.
Decide what’s truly most important, then act accordingly.
Choose to live a life by design instead of by accident.
Embrace the struggle.
Growth will always come with challenges and discomfort. Accept this truth and lean into it.
